New York Knicks Obi Toppin Wins 2022 Slam Dunk Tournament

Player beat Juan Toscano-Anderson in the final of the duel, which still had Cole Anthony and Jalen Green

Obi Toppin of the New York Knicks is the big winner of the 2022 Slam Dunk Tournament.

 The young winger beat Juan Toscano-Anderson in the finals without much effort, given the Golden State Warriors player failed to dunk in the second round.

 The traditional dispute took place this Saturday night, in Cleveland, on the weekend of the stars. The final attraction is this Sunday's All-Star Game

 The most applauded dunk was the first one, when a volunteer jumped, passed the ball behind his back and managed to get the ball into the basket. The most notable, however, was the last one, when he placed the ball between his legs, touched the ball to the backboard and then dunked.

In the first phase, Toppin and Toscano-Anderson, who paid homage to the Mexico of his parents' origin with sneakers in the colors of the flag, eliminated Cole Anthony (Orlando Magic) and Jalen Green (Houston Rockets). The two players failed to repeat the impressive dunks they usually perform during games.

The champion overcomes the disappointment of 2021, when he lost to Portland Trail Blazers' Anfernee Simons by one point. It's the fifth time a Knicks player has won the dunk tournament - it's the most victorious franchise in contention. The last New York athlete to lift the trophy was point guard Nate Robinson, in 2009 and 2010.
